The car used in the tests belongs to the Plus version (the most advanced) with the most abundant safety equipment in its price range, such as 11 airbags including central airbags in the front seats, electronic stability control (ESC), active driver assistance technology package (ADAS) with automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane keeping assist, blind spot warning or headlights that automatically switch phase/phase/ cos. The lower Eco version also has the same equipment list.

Through ASEAN NCAP tests, VF 8 received a total of 89.50 out of 100 points, thereby becoming VinFast's first electric car to meet 5-star safety standards. Previously, VF e34 was rated 4 stars with 78.99 points.

More specifically, this is the "box car" that has scored the highest score ever of this organization since more stringent testing standards for the period 2021 - 2015 began to be applied by ASEAN NCAP. The fact that VF 8 is highly rated for its safety is not surprising, but the highest results and the category with a perfect score left many people impressed.
