How to politely decline a call on iPhone

When there's a call to your iPhone, how can you decline it without offending the other end of the line?

Sometimes, we suddenly have something to do while on a call but don't know how to refuse them, by hanging up the call with the red button, the person on the other end of the line will receive a message saying "Call ended" . This can be considered a rude, impolite act.

Sometimes users want to decline a call but don't want to be too rude.

However, there is an extremely clever way for users to cleverly decline calls, which is to take advantage of the airplane mode function on the iPhone. When in this mode, the iPhone will fall into a state similar to falling into an area with no signal signal, then the other end will receive the message "Call failed".

This will essentially immediately interrupt the mobile connection, causing the call to end. The display of “Call Failed” on the other end of the screen is more like a simulation of a technical problem rather than an intentional action on the part of the user, which should make the other end feel more comfortable.

To put your iPhone into airplane mode while on a call, simply swipe down from the top right corner of the screen (for iPhones with a notch) or up from the bottom of the screen (for iPhones with a Home button). In the interface that appears, simply tap the Airplane Mode button (the airplane icon) so that it turns orange.

When you do this, the green cellular connection button right next to the Airplane Mode button will turn gray to indicate that cellular connectivity is disabled. Additionally, the cellular carrier name in the upper left corner will be replaced with an airplane icon to confirm that airplane mode is active.

Putting your iPhone into airplane mode will cause all network connections to be interrupted, including cellular calls, text messaging, and cellular data access.

Besides, rejection is only done with calls over mobile networks and not with Wi-Fi. In the case of calls over Wi-Fi, users also perform the above swipe and press the blue Wi-Fi button in the Control Center to end the call over Wi-Fi.

Also, this operation will not be performed when the iPhone is locked.
