Sony Xperia 1 VI will cost more than the iPhone 15 Pro Max

Sony has confirmed that the next Xperia branded phones will be introduced on May 17.

At the time of confirmation, the Japanese company did not provide any details about the products that will be launched next month. Even so, it's not hard to guess that Sony's upcoming lineup will most likely include follow-on models to the current Xperia series from the company such as the Xperia 1 VI, Xperia 5 VI, and Xperia 10 VI.

This phone is not cheap.

While not much is known about Sony's upcoming phones at the moment, a report from Taiwan suggests that at least one of these devices, namely the Xperia 1 VI, will have the price is quite expensive.

Although prices may vary depending on the market, customers in Taiwan are expected to be offered the Xperia 1 VI for no less than 1,225 USD (31 million VND). This number is higher than the amount of 1,199 USD (30.4 million VND) that Apple asked for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, not to mention this is a discount compared to the expected original price of 1,290 USD (32.69 million VND). ).

But is the power worth the asking price?

The price of the Xperia 1 VI is also similar to the starting price of the flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra from Samsung, which starts at $1,299. It remains to be seen whether Sony's upcoming high-end smartphone will be attractive enough to convince customers to choose it over other alternatives from bigger phone brands.

The Xperia products that Sony plans to launch at the event taking place on May 17 have been completely revealed in the past few days.

Many leaked information not only reveals the phones that Sony plans to introduce later this month but also provides most of their specifications. Now, another leak regarding the official renders of the Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 10 VI gives us a look at these upcoming products.

Sony's upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 VI, has a fairly standard design with very thin bezels and a small camera cluster on the left side. One thing that seems quite strange is that the front camera is placed at the top left. Due to this design choice, the screen remains completely hole-free, but is quite asymmetrical and has a slightly thicker bezel that could house the front camera. Other than that, there's nothing unusual or innovative about the Xperia 1 VI when compared to its predecessor.

Meanwhile, the Xperia 10 VI has a similar design, although it appears the bezels are a bit thicker. Additionally, the camera island is a lot smaller as it only includes 2 sensors and a small LED flash.

The images obtained by Android Headlines show both phones from all angles and confirm each will have its own official case with a kickstand on the back. These accessories are usually sold separately, but Sony may offer them for free to those who pre-order the smartphone.
