The Insta360 X4 Pocket Camera is the company's first 8K 360° camera. The camera can record 8K video at 30 frames per second and now uses the more efficient H.265 codec (the previous Insta360 X3 camera only had H.264). The maximum bitrate for video has been increased to 200Mbps to handle the additional resolution, though.
At the same time, the camera can record 5.7K quality video at 60 frames per second (up from 30 frames per second compared to the old version) and 4K at 100 frames per second.

MaxView mode can record video with a 170° angle, 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, up from 30 frames per second. Timelapse videos have increased resolution to 11K. These are major improvements compared to its predecessor.
