A new bug in Google Maps is causing a lack of important information while driving, leading to inconvenience and potential distractions.
Citing Android Authority, PhoneArena reports that this bug caused the color-coded traffic lane markings to disappear from the screen, regardless of whether the user was using the iOS or Android version of the app.

Blue lines indicate main routes, while light blue, orange, red, and gray lines represent traffic density ranging from smooth to heavily congested. Many other Reddit users have also confirmed experiencing similar issues, with feedback coming from various regions such as New England, Thailand, and India. While some traffic information, such as the maintenance work icon, still displays, most color-coded features are not working.
This error affects both the mobile and web versions of Google Maps. Notably, no workarounds such as clearing the cache or changing accounts can resolve the issue.
