According to the latest reports, Apple plans to launch privacy-focused smart glasses at the WWDC 2027 global developer conference.
According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is currently planning to launch its first smart glasses at WWDC 2027 this coming June, and privacy will be a key focus.
Regarding glasses, Apple is testing "a range of new privacy-related hardware and software features." Analysts say Apple's marketing campaign will likely emphasize the privacy protections of the glasses compared to competing products like Meta Ray-Ban.

Amid concerns that some people might be secretly filmed by glasses equipped with cameras, Gurman stated that Apple has considered releasing smart glasses with cameras that support AI features but lack the ability to take photos and videos. In fact, Apple has even experimented with smart glasses that completely lack a camera system.
However, the most likely outcome is that Apple's glasses will have cameras but will come with privacy protections.
Like Ray-Ban Meta glasses, Apple's glasses will also have speakers and microphones for playing music, making phone calls, and listening to notifications from Siri.
Apple's smart glasses are expected to reach customers by the end of 2027.
