Philadelphia Insurance Is Back Up

 Philadelphia Insurance reports its operations have been restored following a network outage.



“We have resumed regular operations, though we continue to address


minor technical issues as they arise,” the company stated in an update on its handling of a network outage that began June 9.


Philadelphia Insurance disconnected its systems to contain the threat


from suspicious activity it detected on June 9. Phone, email, and online applications were affected by the outage.


Philadelphia said that “contrary to media reports, no systems were en


crypted, and this was not a ransomware event.”


If it determines tha


t customer data was accessed, Philadelphia said it will advise those whose information was involved.


The insurer thanked its customers, agents, and brokers for their continued support following the temporary network outage. “We fully understand how much you, o


ur customers and trusted partners, rely on our company, and we take that responsibility very seriously,” the announcement said.
