Kentucky DOI Posts Rules on Wind-Mitigation

The Kentucky Department of Insurance has posted new rule

s on the Strengthen Kentucky Homes wind-mitigation grant program, in keeping with statutes approved in 2024.

The regulations spell out eligibility requirements for homeowners, gr

neral liability insurance policy, have proper workers’ compensation coverage on employees, and must be certifie

The rules note that the insurance commissioner shall allocate funding in equal measure to 15 regions in Kentucky.

The Department will hold a public hearing on the regulations on Se

pt. 22 at 9 a.m. in Frankfort. People wishing to speak should notify the department five days in advance. Written co

mments will be accepted through Sept. 30, the department said in a bulletin.

The proposed rules can be seen on the DOI website. Contractor r

ules are here. Grant procedures and home eligibility rules are here.
