North Carolina authorities charged a woman with insurance fraud after learn
ing that she made slip-and-fall claims at multiple grocery stores in the area.
Jackie Kay Lynch, 61, of Wilson, east of Raleigh, filed a $1,000 claim in Au
gust 2024 with Utica National Insurance, stating that she had been injured when she fell at a store in Wilson, the North Carolina Depart
ment of Insurance said in news release.
Investigators found t
hat Lynch had made similar claims at eight Piggly Wiggly stores, seeking damages, DOI noted.
The woman was arres
nty Detention Center.

Thomas Adams, with 45 years in the captive arena, has helmed the association since 2013, the Times noted. The new CEO will be annou
nced at the association’s 2025 conference in Charlotte, May 14-17.
