According to the latest report, Apple has increased its investment in Indonesia 10 times to get the iPhone 16 ban lifted.
The Indonesian Ministry of Industry had previously blocked Apple from selling the iPhone 16 in the country after the company failed to meet its commitment to invest $109.6 million. Apple then offered to invest another $10 million on November 5, but that was still not enough to lift the sales ban.
According to a report from Bloomberg, the "Apple House" has proposed to invest nearly $ 100 million in Indonesia over the next two years. The Ministry of Industry has not yet made a decision, but there is information that the Ministry is asking Apple to review its investment plans to focus on R&D (Research and Development).

The ban on the iPhone 16 and Apple’s investments stemmed from a regulation that requires a valid Domestic Content Level certificate to sell products like the iPhone in Indonesia. Apple failed to meet the investment threshold by investing only $94.53 million instead of the required $107.6 million.
Previous investments have gone to manufacturing companies and the establishment of Apple Academy. The fourth Apple Developer Academy opened in Indonesia in April 2024.

No official announcement has been made by Apple or the Indonesian Ministry of Industry. If Apple makes the new $100 million investment in a satisfactory manner, the iPhone 16 ban will likely be lifted.
