Apple launched iPhone 16 with new design, Apple Intelligence support, but there are still some shortcomings with fans' expectations.
Apple has launched the iPhone 16 with some pretty interesting design innovations.
Not only is this the first iPhone line developed to support Apple Intelligence, but Apple is also bringing some new colors to the regular models.
However, there are still some points that iFans are looking forward to but are not available on the iPhone 16 series.
Let's take a closer look.
4 things iFans expect but are still missing on iPhone 16 - 1
iPhone 16 still has 60Hz screen
In 2017, Apple added ProMotion to the iPad Pro.
This is the name for the 120Hz refresh rate display, which means smoother scrolling and on-screen animations.
With the iPhone 13 Pro, Apple finally introduced ProMotion to iPhone displays.
Previously, 60Hz was the standard Apple had been using for years.
After ProMotion arrived on the iPhone, Apple kept it exclusive to the Pro models, even to this day.

The standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus only have a 60Hz refresh rate, while the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max have a 120Hz ProMotion display.

In recent years, many Android phones, even entry-level models or budget options, have had 120Hz or 90Hz refresh rate displays.
But Apple still equips the standard iPhone 16 models with 60Hz displays.
Most iPhone 16 buyers probably won’t care.
It’s hard to tell the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz unless you’re comparing them side-by-side.
But once you’ve used a device with a 120Hz display, you’ll notice the difference and find it harder to adapt to going back to 60Hz.
Think of it like when Apple introduced the Retina display on the iPhone 4. When that display technology came out, you couldn't see individual pixels on the screen if you looked closely. Again, the refresh rate isn't as noticeable to some people, but it's hard to downgrade once you get used to it.

No significant upgrades to the telephoto camera
The iPhone 16 Pro finally gets an improved periscope camera with the same 5x optical zoom as the iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, Apple didn't increase the megapixel count on the telephoto lens this year for either the Pro or Pro Max. The ultra-wide camera gets a big bump from 12MP to 48MP, but the telephoto camera doesn't get the same upgrade.
To put that into perspective, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has two telephoto lenses, a 10MP and a 50MP, capable of 3x and 5x optical zoom, respectively. The Google Pixel 9 Pro, which was just released a month ago, has a 48MP ultra-wide lens and a 48MP telephoto camera. Apple's bumping up the specs on just the ultra-wide lens and not the telephoto lens is a bit limiting for the device.
Apple could also increase the digital zoom to more than 15x. The Pixel can currently zoom up to 30x, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra can zoom up to 100x. Apple still doesn't let you zoom past 15x, which is a shame.

iPhone Pro Colors
The colors of the regular iPhone 16 models have been praised. They're really nice. Especially when you compare this year's pink phone to the pink iPhone 15.
But what about the iPhone 16 Pro models? According to Digital Trends, the color options on the iPhone Pro models are a bit more limited than the previous generation, not even blue. Some people may like Desert Titanium, and it may be the hottest color of the year. But the rest of the colors are really nothing special or outstanding.
Why can’t Apple listen and give users some really cool colors for the Pro models? Everyone wants a colorful iPhone Pro, not four different shades of gray.
