The iPhone 17 will feature a display that marks a major step forward in display technology.
According to Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants, the iPhone 17 series will have several notable display upgrades next year.
The iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim (which will replace the Plus model due to poor sales),
iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will all be equipped with these improvements.

Ross Young says the iPhone 17 will finally feature a 120Hz display and LTPO OLED technology.
This means the display will be able to change the refresh rate to very low levels, possibly even 1Hz.
This is a long-awaited step, as even the current iPhone 16 series has kept the high refresh rate feature reserved for the Pro models.
Along with the iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Slim will also feature a 120Hz refresh rate and LTPO OLED technology.
This is less surprising because with its ultra-thin design, Apple hopes that this will be a standout product of the company.
A high-end product cannot lack modern features like this.
High refresh rate screens are a feature that Android phones have had for a long time.

Some high-end smartphones, especially gaming models like the ROG Phone or Nubia RedMagic, are equipped with screens up to 165Hz.
Meanwhile, most other Android phones reach 120Hz. Even low-cost Android phones, such as the Redmi A3 or Galaxy A33,
which cost only about 2 to 3 million VND, are equipped with high-refresh-rate screens, although they only reach 90Hz.
After introducing 120Hz ProMotion with the iPad Pro in 2017,
Apple brought the feature to the iPhone with the iPhone 13 Pro in 2021, delivering a faster, smoother feel when scrolling.
Since then, it's remained a feature only available on the higher-end iPhone Pro models.
The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus will feature 120Hz ProMotion and Always-On displays.
The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus will have 120Hz ProMotion and Always-On displays.
According to The Elec, Apple will bring 120Hz ProMotion displays and Always-On display features to standard iPhone models in 2025. In other words, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus will have 120Hz ProMotion displays and Always-On.
If this rumor is correct, the standard iPhone 17 duo will be very attractive to iFans who are not excited about the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus this year. It is highly likely that the standard iPhone 16 pair will only be integrated with a 60Hz refresh rate screen like its predecessor.
However, whether Apple will do this for the 2025 iPhone line or not depends on the screen manufacturer BOE. Many sources also said that BOE is also doubtful about its ability to meet Apple's requirements and needs more training.
