A new 4TB SSD from Samsung will hit the market soon, with the company saying it will be the fastest SSD in the world.

According to SamMobile , in 2022, Samsung launched its first PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, the 990 PRO. This product line then had two variants: 1TB and 2TB. In addition, the company also announced a 4TB version of the 990 PRO, but so far, it still has no news in the technology market.

Many consumers have asked Samsung to soon launch a 4TB model of the world's fastest SSD line. Responding to the excitement from the community, Samsung has now officially announced that the launch of this variant will take place soon.

Specifically, the Korean technology giant announced on Twitter that the company will soon launch a 4TB version of the SSD 990 PRO, but the company did not give an exact release date.

Most likely the new SSD will also have a built-in heatsink. Additionally, its price will be almost double the price of the 2TB version of the SSD 990 PRO. On Samsung's website it is mentioned that the 4TB version will launch this year.

The SSD 990 PRO series uses Samsung's latest V-NAND and is capable of achieving the highest sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,450MB/s and 6,900MB/s. SSDs can be used in a variety of devices, such as gaming consoles, laptops, PCs, and servers. It comes with a heatsink to improve the performance of the SSD under constant use.

While the first PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSDs have begun to hit the market, Samsung has yet to reveal its PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSDs for consumers. However, the company still has a PCIe 5.0 SSD for servers called PM1743. It has sequential read and write speeds of up to 13,000MB/s and 6,600MB/s.
