Microsoft has announced the death of some applications in the upcoming Windows 11 24H2 version.
Microsoft has just announced that the Windows 11 24H2 update will officially "kill" three familiar applications: Cortana, Tips and WordPad. This is part of Microsoft's effort to improve and streamline its operating system.
Cortana, the virtual assistant once expected to be a rival to Siri, has gradually lost its position in recent years. The removal of Cortana from Windows 11 has been previously announced by Microsoft and will now officially be implemented in the 24H2 update.

Meanwhile, the simple text editing application WordPad has been available on Windows since 1995 and will also be discontinued. Microsoft announced this last September and encouraged users to switch to using Word or Notepad.
The Tips app, which often provides tips and tricks for using Windows, will also be removed in this update.
Windows Insider users were able to experience the preview of Windows 11 24H2 and confirm information about the removal of the above three applications. Business customers can also upgrade through Windows Update for Business (WUfB) and Windows Server Update Service (WSUS).
This is not the first time Microsoft has removed old applications from Windows. Previously, the company also intended to "discontinue" the Paint application, but then changed its decision and brought this application to the Microsoft Store.
