HMD Global is increasingly focusing on establishing its own strong brand identity.
This focus culminated when the company launched the HMD Pusle line targeting an attractive price segment and attracting many consumers. Continuing the excitement, the company is also planning to expand this segment with two smartphone models codenamed Nighthawk and Tomcat.
HMD is on the verge of excitement with its own brand smartphone models.
Both the Nighthawk and Tomcat are said to come with impressive specs for the price. Leaks show that they will come with Snapdragon chips, with the Nighthawk using the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip and the Tomcat using the more powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip. The focus on Qualcomm chips is in line with HMD's established reputation for delivering reliable performance for its devices.
Leaks also indicate that both phones will have high refresh rate AMOLED displays. In particular, Nighthawk has a 6.5-inch Full HD + screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, while Tomcat has a 6.6-inch Full HD + PureDisplay screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. This allows users to expect a smooth and sharp visual experience.
The camera also seems to be a focus of this product duo as both are said to come with a 108 MP main camera that supports OIS. This shows a significant emphasis on high-quality photography and video, a feature increasingly sought after by smartphone users. Both will offer fast charging, with 33W for the Nighthawk's 5000 mAh battery and 33W for the Tomcat's 4900 mAh battery.
Nighthawk and Tomcat are both extremely interesting names.
Besides these two products, HMD is also said to be aiming for an even more innovative Fusion project. Inspired by the Moto Mod concept, the Fusion project is rumored to be a modular smartphone. This sees users being able to attach interchangeable modules to the phone, expanding functionality such as photography, battery life and even presentation capabilities. Although information is still scarce, speculation suggests that the Fusion series will use the Qualcomm QCM6490 chip.
With a focus on powerful chips, high-resolution displays, good cameras and modular designs, HMD Global seems ready to strengthen its position in the competitive smartphone market.
