Audi Q6L e-tron launched in the Chinese market

Audi has just introduced the Q6L e-tron electric car model exclusively for the Chinese market.

With an increased length of up to 105 mm compared to the standard model, the 2025 Audi Q6L e-tron not only provides a more spacious usable space but also has an increased battery capacity of 7 kWh to travel further.

The Chinese market loves cars with spacious interiors and Audi has responded to this for many years with variants bearing the suffix “L” in the name, used to refer to models with a wheelbase. longer than the company's standard cars. This method continues to be applied to the Q6 e-tron 2025 electric car model to create the Q6L e-tron 2025 variant.

Audi unveils the 2025 Q6L e-tron at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, revealing only the model's exterior, which is 105 mm longer than the standard 2025 Q6 e-tron. In addition to giving passengers more legroom, the extra length also allows Audi engineers to add more battery capacity under the crossover. The new Q6L has 7 kWh more battery capacity than the standard Q6 e-tron, for a total capacity of 107 kWh.

That means the Q6L e-tron (and SQ6 e-tron) will be able to travel more than 700 km per charge on China's CLTC cycle, a significant increase from the standard model's 625 km. Thanks to 800 volt technology, Audi's latest electric vehicle will also be able to charge at up to 270 kW.

Thanks to fast charging capabilities, the new Q6L e-tron can recover enough energy to travel 260 km in just 10 minutes and from 10% to 80% in just 25 minutes. Of course, this can only be done at a suitable charging station. The battery will drive a 347-horsepower electric motor in rear-wheel-drive configuration or two motors with combined a output of 469 horsepower in all-wheel-drive configuration.

On the outside, Audi has done more than just add length to the Q6L e-tron. This model is equipped with a new front fascia with a glossy black finish for the “grille” and matching paint for the side air intakes to make the car look wider. Audi also promises exclusive paint colors for this model, including the Lilac Gray seen in the illustration.

Additionally, the digital OLED taillights on the Q6L e-tron will be able to communicate with other vehicles on the road. “Communication lights” warn other drivers of accidents and incidents by displaying a static symbol. The new Q6L e-tron will also feature an updated interior, with Audi promising that the cabin will feature improved infotainment technology tailored for the Chinese market.

The German automaker revealed that the Q6L e-tron will also be equipped with a series of driver assistance features for the Chinese market. These include Driving Assistant Pro and Parking Assistant Pro which are supported by lidar, radar, on-board ultrasonic sensors and a set of cameras. The model will also feature V2X technology that will help notify drivers about accidents and other hazards around them.
