VinFast VF 8 was crash tested

 The Southeast Asia New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP) has tested and awarded the highest level of safety certification to VinFast VF 8, an electric D-class SUV of the Vietnamese brand.



Recently, the Southeast Asia New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP) announced the safety test results of the electric D-class SUV VinFast VF 8. This is the 5th time this organization has evaluated a vehicle. The car comes from the VinFast brand after Fadil, Lux A2.0, Lux SA2.0 and electric C-class SUV VF e34.

The car used in the tests belongs to the Plus version (the most advanced) with the most abundant safety equipment in its price range, such as 11 airbags including central airbags in the front seats, electronic stability control (ESC), active driver assistance technology package (ADAS) with automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane keeping assist, blind spot warning or headlights that automatically switch phase/phase/ cos. The lower Eco version also has the same equipment list.


Through ASEAN NCAP tests, VF 8 received a total of 89.50 out of 100 points, thereby becoming VinFast's first electric car to meet 5-star safety standards. Previously, VF e34 was rated 4 stars with 78.99 points.


More specifically, this is the "box car" that has scored the highest score ever of this organization since more stringent testing standards for the period 2021 - 2015 began to be applied by ASEAN NCAP. The fact that VF 8 is highly rated for its safety is not surprising, but the highest results and the category with a perfect score left many people impressed.

In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, this vehicle weighing more than 2.6 tons was scored 36.07 out of 40 points. According to data collected from dummies after two frontal collision tests at a speed of 64 km/h and side impact at a speed of 50 km/h, most of the key body parts of the driver and passenger Customers are guaranteed safety by the VF 8 at the "Good" or "Adequate" level. The airbag system deployed promptly, and the chassis and body structure were considered stable.
